Victorian 3-storey hall, stairs and landing redecoration

Customer Review:

It was a pleasure having Frank to do work in our home and he treated it with the utmost respect. When Frank first came to look at the work we needed doing he listened to what we wanted but also presented us with options we’d not thought of, it was a great balance between us as the client and him as the contractor/adviser.

When doing the work Frank took great care in ensuring his work was clean, and everything was left tidy at the end of each day. He spent more time than I expected doing the ‘prep’ but it paid dividends as, when he began doing the ‘real’ painting, it was far quicker and to an excellent standard. As we were working from home we spent more time with Frank than would normally have been the case but this caused no issue, he was always friendly, chatty but while still getting the job done. He even managed to find some more time in the schedule to do a couple of other bits of work that I dropped in last minute.

The end result of Frank’s work was that we got exactly what we wanted in terms of the final look, but even better!

The original stain glass window of this 3 storey Victorian home has been painstakingly cleaned and repaired by the owners, which is now complimented by a fresh new look in the hall, stairs and landing.

The wall colours are Farrow & Ball French Gray below the dado, White Tie above. The woodwork and spindles are painted in a water-based white satin finish - less likely to ‘yellow’ over time. The banister rail has two different woods , changing as it continues to the upper floors. A bit tricky, but Frank colour matched as close as possible with wood stain, finally finishing with a satin varnish - quite a transformation!
