Victorian Dado Replication & Repairs
This stunning Lincrusta dado from c.1890 is still in remarkable condition for its age. However to suit modern living in this Victorian home, the lounge and dining room were knocked through and a doorway was blocked up. This resulted in a section of hall with no dado wallpaper.
Where a Lincrusta or Anaglypta design is no longer in production, Frank is able to make a mould of your existing design and replicate it by hand in repeating panels of up to 1 sq. m. We can usually identify the material from a clear photo enabling us to search our own books or company archives we have access to.
Historic Ceiling Panel Repair
Frank was called in by contractors working on renovations of a Victorian home to advise on repairing original ceiling tiles that had been damaged by a water leak from above. Frank is able to make moulds to replicate and repair damaged areas.
First thought to be Anaglypta tiles, on further investigation and a trawl of the Lincrusta archives, we were excited to find this design in a surviving catalogue (undated). It is, in fact, Cordelova - High Relief Ceiling pattern no. 44!
Cordelova, alongside other deep relief wallcoverings of the time, including Cameiod, Lignomur and Anaglypta, are still found in historical properties today, and designs can be replicated by Frank Holmes Ltd to repair and preserve original features.
